Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the team at The Broke and the Bookish. This week I’m featuring ten upcoming 2016 releases that I’m very highly anticipating. These will all be released in the second half of this year.
1. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
I absolutely loved Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. It was definitely a step up from her Grisha trilogy. The characters and the relationships between them were so good and I can’t wait to read more about them. I’m so sad that this is only a duology though. I’ve already preordered this one and it comes out on September 27 😀
2. Blood for Blood by Ryan Graudin
Wolf by Wolf was another book that I really loved when I read it last year. It’s such an exciting and action-paced story and I love that it’s an alternate history novel. I also really enjoyed the prequel novella, Iron to Iron. Cannot wait to get my hands on this sequel. Again, I’m sad that it’s a duology and not a trilogy. November 1 could not come soon enough!
3. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer is probably my favourite series of all time. So I cannot wait to get my hands on this upcoming release, which is a retelling of Alice in Wonderland. November 8 is the release date for this novel.
4. Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
I recently read ACOMAF by Sarah J. Maas and didn’t enjoy it very much so my excitement for this fifth book of the Throne of Glass series has dampened a little bit. But I’ve been enjoying where the series has been going so I guess I’m still excited to see where this next book goes. This is out on September 6.
5. Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch
I’m highly anticipating this third and final book of the Snow Like Ashes trilogy. I absolutely loved Snow Like Ashes and it became one of my favourite novels of all time… but Ice Like Fire really disappointed me. I have a feeling that this finale is going to be epic though! It comes out on September 20.
6. The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
I really enjoyed Nicola Yoon’s debut novel, Everything Everything. It had really interesting formatting and lots of beautiful illustrations. I’m hoping that The Sun is Also a Star will have those elements too. The synopsis also sounds very intriguing and I love a female protagonist who loves science. This novel comes out on November 1.
7. Replica by Lauren Oliver
I haven’t read anything by Lauren Oliver yet but I’m drawn in by the gimmicky nature of this book. The book can be read four ways and I think it’d be great to experience it. Also, from what I’ve read of the synopsis, it sounds like an intriguing sci-fi read. This is out on October 4.
8. PS. I Like You by Kasie West
Who can resist a new Kasie West book? Her novels are so quick and easy to read and absolutely perfect for a reading slump. I’ve enjoyed all of her books so far and I’m keen to read more from her. Also, this one comes out on July 26, so not too long to go!
9. Paper and Fire by Rachel Caine
This is the sequel to Ink and Bone, which I read earlier this year and absolutely fell in love with. It’s such a great alternate history story that’s all about books and the Great Library of Alexandria. I can’t wait to continue the series and see how it all plays out. This one also comes out really soon on July 5.
10. Cure For the Common Universe by Christian McKay Heidicker
I honestly don’t know too much about this book but it has a really fun cover and the main character is sent to video game rehab. If that doesn’t sound like a lot of fun, I don’t know what does. And whoops, I thought this one was out in July but it’s actually out today! June 14.
Which one of these are you also highly anticipating? Also, if you haven’t already, check out my 1 year blogoversary giveaways.
Kasie’s made my list, and I thought about adding Sarah J. Maas’ but since I’ve yet to read her earlier books, I decided to skip it. Still, I’m glad I’ll be able to binge the TOG series when I finally do start reading them. 🙂 Fun list!

Haha it’ll be a really long ToG binge but I agree. It would be a lot of fun!

Definitely (although, yes, those tomes intimidate me!)
Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Jenna.

I’m so excited to see what Marissa Meyer does with Heartless! Great picks.

I am too! Hopefully it’s as good as The Lunar Chronicles. The world in that series is just so amazing. I hope Heartless can match it!

I want to read so many of the books on your list! I’m particularly looking forward to Kasie West’s new book. 🙂

Me too! Only a month to go now. She writes some of the best light contemporary romances so I always look forward to her new releases.

What a great list! I am very excited for Heartless as well, I have only read Cinder so far, but it was so good, and I love Heartless’ story already.
WAIT. You haven’t read ANY Lauren Oliver before? YOU SHOULD! She’s one of my favorite authors of all times, I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for Replica. It sounds so original and incredible ❤

Yeah I’ve always wanted to buy Delirium (or whatever the first book is called) but there are always other things I want to buy. But I’ll definitely buy Replica to check out the cool format of it!

Lovely to anticipate another Saraj j mass, right?

Yeah, it’ll be exciting to dive into another Throne of Glass book. Wasn’t a fan of ACOMAF so I’m hoping I won’t be disappointed by Empire of Storms.

Can’t wait for new Yoon and Lauren Oliver too! I was also intrigued by Cure of the Common Universe so i’ll keep an eye out for your review 🙂

I haven’t seen much hype for Cure of the Common Universe but it sounds like so much fun. Will definitely be checking it out at some point.

Me neither but I did see it featured in the Goodreads YA newsletter. Hopefully it’s worth the read though!

I absolutely cannot wait for Blood for Blood! And Heartless .. even though I still haven’t read any Marissa Meyer books hahaha

You should definitely read The Lunar Chronicles! Those books are soooo good! I’m not sure that Heartless will be able to compare…

I will!!! I really will read them. I am just waiting for a box set or something hahaha

Heartless… EVERYONE WANTS HEARTLESS! I mean, another totally awesome retelling? Yes please! I haven’t read Queen of Shadows yet but based on a lot of my friends’ opinions, it’s another ACOMAF. I don’t know if I want to read Queen of Shadows.. Happy Reading 😀

I actually really liked Queen of Shadows (only because I like the current romance). But I really did not like ACOMAF and I now understand what everyone was complaining about after they read QoS. I’m super weary of Empire of Storms now…

Heartless is possibly one of my most anticipated books for the rest of this year, other than Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

I’m definitely really looking forward to both of those! Harry Potter and the Cursed Child could not come soon enough!

Replica is one I’m really looking forward to, the premise of it has me really curious. And Cure for the Common Universe sounds really fun- and I love that style of cover!

I’m definitely intrigued by the format of Replica. I just wish I could erase my memory of the book so I can experience it all four ways. Sadly I can’t do that 😦

The rest of this year has so many exciting releases! I CANNOT wait for the release of Heartless, Empire of Storms and PS I Like You! I NEED THEM NOW! Another really anticipated read is GEMINA, ITS SO BEAUTIFUL! 🙂
LikeLiked by 1 person
Gemina almost made my list but I wasn’t huge fan of Illuminae. It was just okay. I liked the format of it a lot but the plot wasn’t really anything special to me. I’m still excited for Gemina though and to see what other cool and interesting things Amie and Jay can do with it.

Aw, I’m sorry you didn’t like it so much! I hope that when you do pick up the next one, you enjoy it a lot more! I have really high expectations, hoping it goes well for the both of us! 🙂

Wow, Replica sounds really cool! I’m not sure how it will actually come out, but the idea of it seems interesting at least. Hopefully it doesn’t disappoint!

I hope it lives up to my expectations! It sounds wonderful and I’m really intrigued by the whole scientific institution that’s mentioned in the synopsis. Can’t wait for it to come out… I just need to decide how I want to read it HAHA.

I can’t wait for Crooked Kingdom! I need to know that these characters will be okay. I really really liked Snow Like Ashes, but when I saw the reviews for the second book, I set it aside. I’m curious to see how this trilogy wraps up so I might go back and read book 2 if the reviews for book 3 are good.
The Sun Is Also a Star and P.S I Like You are two contemporaries I really can’t wait to get to either. I hope all these live up to your expectations! 🙂

Yeah Ice Like Fire really disappointed me even though Snow Like Ashes is one of my all-time favourites. There was just too much character assassination in it and my fave is now unrecognisable T_T. I know Frost Like Night is going to be absolutely epic though so I’ll make sure to report back to you 😀

I can’t wait for the new Nicola Yoon book. I am dying to get my hands on it and the book cover is so amazing! I wasn’t a huge fan of the Lunar Chronicles, but I still really want to check out Marissa Meyer’s new book as well. I haven’t gotten around to reading Wolf by Wolf or Six of Crows yet, but I am sure I will be dying for those sequels once I do!

Eeeppp you should definitely read Six of Crows before Crooked Kingdom comes out!! You don’t want to miss out on all the pre-release excitement! And Wolf by Wolf is soooo good. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something really fast-paced and action-packed.

Yikes. Reading slumps are never good. You just need a cute and fast-paced contemporary to snap you out of it. If only Nicola Yoon’s new book was out sooner 😦 I really recommend Girl Against the Universe if you want to read an adorable contemporary though. And My Lady Jane is absolutely hilarious!

I’ll have to check those two out! Thanks for the suggestions!! 😀

I totally agree with you on Blood for Blood! I really hope it lives up to Wolf by Wolf because I absolutely ADORED that book.

I have a feeling Blood for Blood is going to be even more epic! I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen in that book but I’m looking forward to seeing more of the relationship dynamics between Yael and Luca and Yael and Felix!

Everything Everything is super fast-paced and adorable so you’ll be able to fly through it in no time! The illustrations in that book was also fantastic! Hope you enjoy it when you get to it 🙂

How could I have forgotten about Iron to Iron. That’ll keep me going until I get my hands on Blood for Blood and I can already see the book messing with my feels.
I am still in that stage of denial when I think about Crooked Kingdom only being part of a duology. I don’t think I’ll ever be ready to let go of these wonderful characters and I am praying my shippers heart doesn’t suffer with this book. I just need Kaz and Inej to have a happy or hopeful ending together.

Omg you NEED to read Iron to Iron! You find out so much about Adele and Luka’s relationship and what happened between them during the last race. So good!! Definitely will satisfy your cravings until Blood for Blood comes out! Oh whyyyy does this have to be a duology?! Make it a trilogy! Same for Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom T___T. Publishers, why are you so cruel?!

YES TO ALL OF THESE. Heartless, Crooked Kingdom, Frost Like Night and Blood for Blood are four of my most anticipated books too Jenna. Hopefully they end up being as amazing as they sound! 🙂 Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous choices! ❤

When I first saw “P.S. I Like You” I totally thought of “Hello, I Love You”, the biggest Korean ceebs story of 2014 methinks.

You had me at “video game rehab” for Cure for the Common Universe. Also Crooked Kingdom comes out in September?? Wow that’s kind of soon! For some reason I thought it would be released in October like Six of Crows did (or was it November…I don’t remember).
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think Six of Crows was also released at the end of September. Haha I’m glad it’s September anyway because I don’t think I could wait any longer than that! If my Book Depository preorder doesn’t come on time, I think I might actually cry.
