You’ll probably have noticed that I don’t do TBR posts because what I read really depends on my mood. But the topic for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, is books that are on my Spring TBR (which I’ve changed to Autumn TBR because southern hemisphere), so I thought I’d list a couple of books that I plan to read in the next two months. Most of these books I’ve either preordered, requested or already own copies of, but I’m super excited to get to all of these.
The Goodreads page for each book is linked!
1. The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski
I absolutely loved both The Winner’s Curse and The Winner’s Crime and I have to get my hands on this as soon as it’s released! Like, you don’t understand how much I need to know what happens next. I’m about to implode from the need.
2. The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
This is another series finale that I’m super excited for. The Raven Cycle so far has been magnificent and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
3. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
I’m pretty sure ACOMAF is on everybody’s TBR and wishlists. I thought A Court of Thorns and Roses was really great and I’m so excited that ACOMAF is inspired by the Hades and Persephone story. I’m slightly iffy about it though because Rhysand is going to get a lot more page time and I don’t know how I feel about him.
4. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
I absolutely love Morgan Matson and everything she’s written. I’ve already heard really good things about The Unexpected Everything and I can’t wait to have it in my hands. It’s going to be fantastic!
5. The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh
The Wrath and the Dawn was another 2015 release that I really enjoyed and I have really high hopes for this sequel.
6. The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan
Out of all of Rick Riordan’s books, I’ve only read Percy Jackson and the Olympians but I want to eventually catch up and binge read everything else. Apollo is probably my favourite of the major gods and I’m so excited to read about him as a mortal.
7. The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan
I’ve had the first four books of the Heroes of Olympus on my shelves for a few months now but I still haven’t read them because I want to marathon the whole series. I have the US paperbacks of the books and the last book, The Blood of Olympus, doesn’t come out in paperback until early April. So I’m holding off until I have all of the books in my possession. I’ve already preordered The Blood of Olympus, so hopefully it gets here soon.
8. Dreamology by Lucy Keating
I’ve had an eARC of Dreamology sitting in my Kindle app since last year. I was planning to review it for Happy Indulgence but the awesome Aila read and wrote up a review for it in like a day. So it’s kind of continued sitting in my Kindle app… It sounds fascinating and Aila really enjoyed it, so I’m really keen to see what I think of it.
9. This is Where the World Ends by Amy Zhang
This is one of my most anticipated contemporary releases of this year and I have an ARC of this one! I cannot wait to read this and will have a review up closer to release date, which is in April.
10. Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
This sounds like a really cute contemporary and there’s been quite a bit of buzz about it around the community. But let’s be real, I’m excited about it because the author and I share the same name.
What books are you really keen to read in the next few months?!
I am eagerly awaiting A Court of Mist And Fury as well. And also Love and Gelato. Morgan Matson has a new book? I need to put that one on my reading list! Great picks, Jenna. 🙂

Omg I’m so excited about Morgan Matson’s new book! I’m just obsessed with her writing!! She writes the best coming of age stories and her characters are always fantastic. I think Love and Gelato could go either way for me but it sounds super adorable, so I’m keen to see how it plays out.

I’ve heard some not-so-great things about This is Where the World Ends but I’m still keen to check it out for myself. I’ve heard that it’s super sad, which is kinda right up my alley HAHA. Love & Gelato will cure my broken heart, I suppose 😀

Oh…. Yeah. That’s how I see Love & Gelato, too! 😀

Our TBR are like the same haha! I need The Raven King, A Court of Mist and Fury, The Rose and The Dagger, and The Hidden Oracle in my life like RIGHT NOW! Can they please be out already *cries all the tears**

I’m more of a contemporary reader but whenever I put up TBRs like this, I notice that half of the list are fantasy novels! There are so many great sequels coming out in the next few months and I can’t wait to get my hands on them! I’ve already preordered most of them so I’ll be keeping one eye on my doorstep at all times 😀

I also have The Unexpected Everything and The Rose and The Dagger on my TTT — admittedly though I’m WAY more excited about the latter. TWATD was just so good. ❤

I totally need to reread TWATD! I remember loving it when I read it and I’m definitely excited for TRATD but I need a bit of a refresher!

I’m going to start by this because, well, I just read the Dreamology synopsis, and WHAT. I immediately added this to my TBR, so, thank you for that, it sounds so, SO good! ❤
I'm really excited for the new Morgan Matson's book too! And Love & Gelato is on my TBR as well, it sounds like a cute contemporary I might enjoy. I'm getting more and more convinced to try out The Winner's Curse these days…
Great list!

You should definitely check out The Winner’s Curse! I loved it so much and ughhhh, I need the final book so much right now! The slow burn romance in this trilogy is fantastic ❤
I had the same reaction when I first read the Dreamology synopsis! It sounds absolutely wonderful and it's been endorsed by Aila who gave it 5 stars (she doesn't even like contemporaries that much!).

I know I can trust you for great recommendations…so I’m going to put this one up HIGH on my TBR 😉

I’m seeing The Winners Kiss on a lot of TBR lists, it makes me feel like i’m the only that didn’t like The Winners Curse. Does it get better in The Winners Crime?
I also am sooo excited for A Court of Mist and Fury!! I am so in love with Sarah J. Mass’ book series. She has been getting better and better with each book. Her stories are so entertaining.

I really enjoyed both The Winner’s Curse so I can only speak from the perspective of someone who enjoyed it. I guess it depends on what you didn’t like about the first book. The Winner’s Crime, for me, was even better than The Winner’s Curse because of all the tension and anticipation. It’s probably even more slow-paced but there’s a lot more political intrigue and strategy. I loved it!

Interesting, I guess I didn’t like the main character at all in the first book. I didn’t like the way she handled things and it just left a sour taste in my mouth when I finished it

We share two books on our TBR. The Raven King and Love and Gelato. I am really looking forward to reading them both. I really need to catch up to The Winner’s series and I definitely plan on reading A Court of Mist and Fury and Rose and Dagger at some point too. Great list! The cover for The Hidden Oracle is so beautiful! I can’t wait to get my hands on it. My only dilemma right now is that all of my Rick Riordan books so far are in paperback and The Hidden Oracle isn’t going to come out in paperback for another year.
…Why am I even complaining about owning hardcovers right now?!!

I own all the Percy Jackson books on my Kindle and I really want to get physical copies! I can see and understand the dilemma though. I like all my books to match, especially if they are the same author. I have some where they don’t match and it kind of drives me crazy LOL!

YAY! I’m so glad to hear that you’re loving The Winner’s Curse so far! It’s such a wonderful series and I enjoyed The Winner’s Crime even more! The Raven Boys is spectacular! It’s definitely slow-paced but the characters and the story is so wonderful!

See this is why I’ve waited to read The Winner’s Trilogy because I don’t have to go through the agonizing wait for the next book following the brutal cliffhangers haha.
I have Gansey’s protective bubble ready. Nothing can harm him there 😉 I don’t know how I’ll cope if my Raven Boys don’t get their happy ending.
Dreamology definitely sounds interesting as does Love and Gelato. I’ll be sure to add them to my pile haha.

Omg you have no idea how brutal the cliffhangers for The Winner’s trilogy are! Like they had me throwing massive, flailing tantrums on my bed. I pretty much just became a toddler all over again! Not long to go now until The Winner’s Kiss is released! I’m so excited to see how it all ends! And same goes for The Raven Cycle! I’m thinking we should combine our protective bubbles so it becomes super durable and impenetrable!

I really want to start The Heroes of Olympus series soon too. It’s been so long since I’ve read Percy Jackson and maybe it’s time. Let me know how you like it, or rather, post a review. =)

Haha I will most likely post a review 😀 As soon as my copy of The Blood of Olympus ships out, I will start bingeing the series! I’m in a bit of a slump right now and some Percy would totally get me out of it!

This Is Where The World Ends sounds amazing. I actually hadn’t heard about it. Lately I have tried not to pay attention to new releases because I am too broke to buy books. It’s a self-protection thing, haha. This one sounds amazing though. Maybe in a couple of months!
I am cutting back on the contemporaries right now because I read too many and they started to annoy me (that said I have one from the library sitting on my bedroom floor right now. It’s a hard habit to break), but that said I absolutely love the sound of Morgan Matson’s books. You give the impression of them as striking a good balance between cute and thoughtful. Also without any protagonists I would consider throwing out of a window.

I totally know what you mean about cutting back on contemporaries. I think I’ve read too many lately as well. I’m in a bit of a slump because of that. Once I finish my next contemporary, I’ll definitely be diving into some epic fantasy! I’ve had The Girl From Everywhere on my shelf for a month and I think I’ll pick that one up next. Some time travel will be a great change to all the contemporary I’ve been reading right now.
Morgan Matson’s characters are the best! You definitely won’t be throwing any of them or their love interests out of windows. The MCs have super adorable siblings as well. They’re just wonderful to read about! I wanted to pick up This Is Where the World Ends this week… but too much contemporary… and I’ve heard that the book is quite sad and that’s not what I need right now.

I am having to be quite strict with myself about it. Reaching for the contemporaries is my natural setting. But I know that as soon as I do the same old frustrations will come rushing back. For now am dealing with it by rereading Neil Gaiman. It’s a technique I recommend!

Great list! I’m extremely iffy about A Court of Mist and Fury as well. I’m betting good money that it’s going to introduce a love triangle with Rhysand as the other half. I really don’t think I can get on board with that after all the things he did in the last book.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, it’ll be pretty hard for Rhysand to redeem himself in my eyes. I definitely can’t get on board with a love triangle and I think I’ll be pretty disappointed if that happens. But it sounds like Sarah J. Maas loves Rhysand so I feel like it could happen…

From his weird reaction at the end of the last book, I’m guessing that Rhysand is who the heroine will most likely end up with at the end of the series. If I remember right, there was mention of bonds forming or something like that. So I’m curious to see if the the development of a bond is what made him go big eyed at the end of the novel before he poofed off.

So many sequels! Actually, sequels are about the only thing I get excited for these days as so many of the newer releases have seriously bummed me out. I need more Rhysand in my life so yes yes yes to ACOMAF – also you don’t like Rhysand?! LE GASP.
Looking at this list reminds me I need to get onto the TRC and Winner’s series before it’s too late!

Yeah the 2016 releases this year have been really hit or miss (mostly miss). At the moment, I’m really only excited about the sequels. I mean, I’m excited about some standalones and series starters but even after I buy them, I’m kinda hesitant to read them.
Okay, it’s not that I don’t like Rhysand. I just don’t want a love triangle because from what I’ve seen of him, he doesn’t deserve her (not that she’s a catch or anything XD )
*throws The Winner’s trilogy at you* I actually think you’ll love that one!

I’ve really excited to read Love & Gelato because LOVE and GELATO. And I love gelato. Also, I’m super excited for The Raven King because who isn’t? I’m almost scared to read it unfortunately. And I really liked Dreamology! So I second you reading it 🙂
Awesome list Jenna!

Exactly! Love AND gelato! What could be better?! I hope it’s so sweet that it hurts my brain (wait… that’s not a good thing). YAY! I’m glad to hear that you liked Dreamology. I haven’t really heard people talk about it, besides Aila, so I wasn’t sure if it’d be for me. But the premise sounds wonderful and I now know two people who really liked it!
